Going in the south for holidays was very fashion as this time of the year. Gia spend Christmas in Pondichery and New Year’s Eve near Kannyakumari. I’ve decided few months ago to go and visit Béa in South Africa, I couldn’t remember our last party in Brittany before she left, but being here offers me a great opportunity to discover Africa!
My journey was a bit long: Delhi-Bombay-Johannesburg-Cape Town in 24 hours to arrive at noon on Sunday 31st December 2006. I have to thank South African Airways for the upgrade in business class for 2 hours. The airport of Jo’burg is new and very modern, that gave me another idea of what I was expecting, but this impression was much better compared to where I was leaving!
Well arrived in Cape Town with my backpack, Béa arrived by running with a Redbull in a hand and a big smile on the face. She didn’t change at all, still cute in a short dress. Her boyfriend Justin took us in his miserable car, the front stayed in a old woman’s car few days before ;-) The highway to centre was closed to a slum with many cases during kilometres and I already view the mix of poverty inside the modernity of the city
The first place we went was a shibeen, an illegal alcohol shop managed by old black women, and so we had some booze (beers and vodka)
